Silent Strider History
The Silent Striders are almost always a small contingent of any sept, and Southern California is definitely not an exception. What tends to draw most Striders to the area tends to be the plight of the Uktena and the Wendigo - having not been present to offer any assistance to the Croatan, and subsequently losing most of their heritage and secrets, there is a general sense of having failed that part of the Nation.
However, the Shadow Lords have maintained a overly strong presence in Southern California for many years now, and some Striders might hint at this being why the Wyrm has had so many successful surges in the area, and how some Tribes, notably the Fangs and both the Wendigo and the Uktena, have suffered since then. (This just isnt said TOO loudly, as it is acknowledged that calling this out just isnt going to get through to other wolves in the way it needs to.)
In the mid 1900s, World War 2 and American Internment Camps in California brought some Striders in, drawn by the captive foreign cultures and their plight. Close to the end of the century, there were claims made that the Unnamed Kinfolk that merged with El Arbol was 'of course' Strider kin, but there has been no proof to this claim, and it has not been seriously pursued.
There are still many individual reasons to attract Striders to the area, but they dont usually share what brings them here, or how long they will be remaining. When they do remain for any length of time, they are usually valued for the lore and secrets they bring with them.
